Nowadays Halloween is an amusing festival celebrated also in Portugal. Children usually dress up withes and ghosts, as dracula and vampires and go to parties.
People cut faces in pumpkins and use them as lanterns.
In our schools some children dress up as witches, cut pumpkins and use them as lanterns. We did a party and students loved this festival.

Thanksgiving
In the United States is an annual one day legal holiday to express gratitude for things one has at the end of the harvest season, usually directed to God. It is celebrated on the fourth thursday of November.
The holiday´s origins trace to harvest festivals that have been celebrated in many cultures since ancient time, and most people celebrate by gathering ta home with family or friends for a holiday feast.
A tradition also exists to share the fruits of harvest with those who are less fortunate.
Thus, in Vale e Cova do Pico School children celebrated this tradition doing a fruit salad to symbolize the fruits of harvest and in Jardim Do Mar School students celebrated doing a pumpkin pie.
